The Living Dead
This tutorial will show you how to make any person to look like they're part of the undead, or the living dead.
1. We will use this image as our base to work with as an example.
2. Keep this as the background layer which will be the only layer we will need for the tutorial.
3. Select the sponge tool and set it to desaturate. Keep the flow at 75% and start brushing everywhere except the eye area and a very small portion of the skin around it. Now you will have something which looks a little more like this.
As you can see our image is starting to take place already as the skin begins to look a little less lively.
4. Let’s emphasize this a little further. Select the dodge tool and set the exposure to 12% and the Range to shadows. Start brushing along the lips, eyes, and the areas around the face while ensuring the checks are not touched. Change the range as you would like and play around with the options! The possibilities are endless and customizable to your own preferences.
Finally, you should have something that looks similar to this.
Now we’re done! How simple was that? You can apply this effect to anyone’s face and create the living dead out of them. Enjoy!
